THE LORD OR MY FRIENDS
I woke up one morning ready to go
to my boyz house and chill
I could smell that my mom was in the kitchen
throwing down on that Sunday meal,
so I put on some balling clothes
and tried to sneak out the back door
and my mom yelled get back in here Joel
and stop running from the Lord.
I went back inside and put on my pants,
shirt and tie; if I got to go to
Church I guest I go looking fly.
I tried to sneak out the house and
still ended up here, but being left behind because
my boyz was waiting for me was my only fear.
You should never choose your
friends over the Lord my mom said.
I hope you remember this forever,
but when I WALK INTO THE CHURCH
THERE WAS MY BOYZ STANDING THERE
WITH THEIR MOMS ALL TOGETHER.
